Portrait Of The Butler As A Key Assistant In A Luxury Condo Who Ensures A Good Life Free Of COVID-19

23 Jun 2020 plus talk

The spread of COVID-19 has introduced Thailand to social distancing measures that aimed to curb the risks of disease propagation. Each of us has been helping to put a stop to the disease by staying home, and this was especially true in Bangkok where people had to closely follow the developments and respond accordingly. Cooperation was given to the various measures that the government had issued in accordance with the daily situation.

Those who lived in Bangkok had to respond actively to the developments. The behaviors and way of life of Bangkok residents shifted noticeably on matters including but not limited to food purchasing, grocery shopping and daily life.

Many people in Bangkok live in condominiums as opposed to other types of residences. Recent developments mean that many people are compelled to spend almost 24 hours a day inside their condos. Maintaining hygiene inside condominiums has become more crucial than ever, as each condo houses many families and a large number of residents.

A luxury development, on the other hand, has fewer units affords each resident with greater privacy. A luxury development is therefore less crowded.

In addition to the condominium being serviced by a juristic person management team, a condo within the luxury category frequently has extra services, such as butlers. These butlers offer a variety of services to residents at the respective development.

As examples, the butlers at 98 Wireless and The Monument Thong Lo provide their services to co-owners as well as tenants. During this period of social distancing, their services allow the residents at each project to receive convenience and stay safe. For example:

Butlers collect delivered parcels and food and bring them to each resident’s doorstep.

The butlers act as the medium for food and parcels delivery by depositing them at the front door of each unit. The butlers observe a strict disease prevention protocol that calls for a face mask to be donned at all times while on duty.

Gloves are donned and hygiene is stringently maintained – all items are treated with alcohol spray before they are delivered to the residents. Appropriate distancing is maintained while the butlers carry out their work.

Butlers help to bridge the gap.

Although residents had to live while observing social distancing, they were kept from feeling isolated by butlers who frequently check up on their wellbeing, and who are ready to provide assistance when needed by the residents. The butlers also engage in activities such as collecting organic vegetables from the edible garden maintained by the condo management, then delivering the harvest to residents’ doorsteps.

An amiable atmosphere of sharing fresh and clean vegetables among community residents is created by this effort, which also enables the butlers to meet and greet residents.

Although distancing has to be maintained when a butler visits each unit, these short encounters help to provide some heart-warming fulfillment.

Butlers help with errands.

For instance, the butlers can be the coordinator between various shops and the residents. They can also reserve personal rides for each resident, when they latter needs to leave the condominium for errands outside. Vehicles used for this purpose have been sanitized and the drivers observe hygienic and disease prevention standards; the residents are therefore kept safe when taking these rides.

The management team of the condo juristic person is responsible for the overall care of the condominium project. It is responsible for the physical attributes of buildings and for facilitating convenience in the lives of the residents, especially in the common areas.

Hence, the juristic person is the prime entity in responding to the COVID-19 situation and preventing its spread. The response involves new work standards, screening people entering and leaving the condo, and enforcing appropriate distancing between residents.

For better illustration, responses included new guidelines on lift usage and parcels sending and collection, frequent cleaning and disinfecting of areas, and the use of face masks.

Personal protection and cooperation with the COVID-19 preventive measures are also needed on the part of the residents. Plus Property, in its capacity as the juristic person administrator for some 200 residential projects at present, would like to recommend the following practices to keep safe from COVID-19 when living at a condominium:

  1. Take care of yourself. Monitor your health and quickly see a doctor if you identify as being at risk or if you present with symptoms. Wear a face mask whenever you leave your unit. Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. Wash your hands frequently and avoid using your hands to touch your face.
  2. Keep a distance. This is especially important when utilising the common area. Exercise caution when using the lift; it is better to wait for the lift to come around again if there are many people inside it.
  3. Be considerate. Observe social distancing measures, avoid visiting risk areas, refrain from bringing outside individuals who fall into the risk group onto condominium grounds, and provide cooperation to the juristic person over disease prevention. If you are an individual who needs to self-monitor or you fall into the risk group that needs quarantine, inform the juristic person so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Preventing the spread of COVID-19 at condominiums help contribute to the overall effort to control the disease. So long as everyone of us cooperate and conduct ourselves in accordance with measures to prevent the disease’s spread, it is believed that the situation in Thailand will improve quickly and that we will all be able to safely and successfully navigate this crisis together.
